THE BAROQUE PILGRIMAGE CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY  AT VINJI VRH NEAR SEMIČ
The church stands on a hill above the village Vinji Vrh. It was built in 1647- modelled on the old pilgrimage church in Nova Štifta near Ribnica. A special hall leading into the church is typical of pilgrimage churches. The hall contains a pulpit made of stone and an altar. At special church ceremonies there were so many pilgrims that the church was too small for all of them and they had to attend the ceremony outside the church.
It is famous for its shingle-roofed cupola with octagonal design. The main three-storeyed gilded altar is one of the finest examples of of the 18th century wood-carvings in Dolenjsko.
Under the Holy Trinity painting there stands a gilded Holy Trinity sculpture crowning Virgin Mary. The church houses two side altars and a puplpit- all made of wood and richly ornamented. The special design of the church influenced the construction of some nearby churches.
