BEEKEEPING JANEZ AND FRANC MOVERN

Janez and Franc Movern are two less experienced beekeepers who own 130 beehives. Most of them are kept on a truck and transported around Bela krajina to find bee forage. Last year Janez and Franc attended a seminar on bee queen keeping and they have started raising them. First they will keep them only for their own use. Later on when they acquire all the necessary experience they will perhaps breed them for sale. Their beehouse stands in a birch grove. Next to the beehouse there is a small weekend house. Unspoilt nature and friendly hosts make a perfect atmosphere and this is why the beekeepers of Semič chose this place for one of our annual meeting places.

The photos below show a few scenes from  last year's beekeepers' meeting. This year's reception for the participants of the excursion will be organized here.

The folk musician and folk singer Martin Pečavar (first from left) is a beekeeper as well. He never misses any of our beekeepers' meetings.
