Solo Dance Theatre Performance Flight

Ana Trojnar says: "In this autobiography, I connect elements of classical ballet, contemporary dance and some gestures from Indian dance.
The performance is divided into four dances: conflict, joy and playfulness, emotions and flight. I represent different sides of my personality and my character in it."

Ana continues:"In the beginning I want to show simple, beautiful and harmonious life and inner harmony that dwells in it. But from time to time the inner harmony-alas!- ends in conflict. Because of my uniqueness the conflict makes me feel misunderstood and rejected by the people surrounding me.
But being a playful child, I forget such events easily. Now follows a dance of joy and playfulness resembling child's happiness that can last into eternity. This is my Indian dance.
Then my emotions rise above the surface, longing for beauty, love and safe feeling of surrendering to the flow of life.
My last dance shows the flight, a symbolic representation of a change - transfer from one way of living which I am bored of, into the other one which is more fulfilling and more beautiful. Now I am again full of enthusiasm, inspiration, wanting new challenges, adventures and happiness."

Songs of Rabindranath Tagore titled Song Offerings are read during the pauses as a bond that links all the dances together. They are read by Anamarija ©tukelj or interpreted by Maja Gal-©tromar

The Portrait of a Dancer

The author of the photographs is Brane ©irca
I have started to collaborate with him in order to design a poster for my performance Flight.
The base for the poster is a photograph. Because of the computer handling of the photos they lose on their quality. Therefore we have decided to show them separately at the exhibition.
The photographs are taken in a studio where we have experimented with the video projection on body. For example, a portrait of a dancer on a stage, sunk in a strong floodlight, when a trained physique forms beautiful dance movements.
But as a contrast to the urban, such as the studio, it has been necessary to look for images in nature. We have gone to the meadows where we have taken photos of different moves: different facial expressions at the relaxed run along high grass smoothly touching the dancer¢s palms.

The exhibition can be exhibit on the day of the performance or before it.
